Our work sits at the heart of Spotify’s ecosystem, shaping how content is ingested, understood, governed, and distributed.</p> <p>We’re seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on delivering content across Spotify’s ecosystem—ensuring that metadata and media flow efficiently and reliably from a wide range of internal systems to our apps and partner platforms. This work underpins every play, recommendation, and interaction, requiring systems that are scalable, observable, and resilient.</p> </div> <h3>What You'll Do</h3><div> <li> <p>Lead and grow a team of engineers building large-scale systems that power how content is delivered across Spotify</p> </li> <li> <p>Set technical direction and guide the evolution of backend systems responsible for content distribution</p> </li> <li> <p>Partner closely with product, design, and platform teams to deliver reliable, high-impact solutions</p> </li> <li> <p>Ensure highly available, scalable, and performant infrastructure supporting millions of content interactions</p> </li> <li> <p>Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement within your team</p> </li> <li> <p>Support engineers through coaching, feedback, and career development</p> </li> <li> <p>Drive execution across complex, cross-functional initiatives involving multiple systems and stakeholders</p> </li> <li> <p>Champion best practices in reliability, observability, and system design</p> </li> </div> <h3>Who You Are</h3><div> <li> <p>You have experience leading and developing engineering teams in a fast-paced, product-driven environment</p> </li> <li> <p>You bring strong technical experience in distributed systems, backend platforms, or infrastructure at scale</p> </li> <li> <p>You know how to balance technical direction with people leadership, creating clarity and focus for your team</p> </li> <li> <p>You are comfortable working across teams and aligning stakeholders toward shared goals</p> </li> <li> <p>You care deeply about building reliable systems that impact millions of users</p> </li> <li> <p>You have experience with high-throughput, low-latency systems or data/content delivery pipelines</p> </li> <li> <p>You communicate clearly and foster an environment where ideas are shared openly</p> </li> <li> <p>You are motivated by developing others and building inclusive, high-performing teams</p> </li> </div> <h3>Where You'll Be</h3><div> <li> <p>This role is based in Stockholm or London</p> </li> <li> <p>We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best!
