Senior Fullstack Engineer – Generative UI Platform

<div> <p data-start="869" data-end="1283">UI Studio is Spotify’s internal generative UI prototyping platform that enables teams to spin up fully functioning replicas of Spotify surfaces — complete with playable music — to explore and pitch new product ideas. What started as a small internal project has evolved into a widely adopted platform, and we’re now expanding it into a full generative UI system where teams can prompt for the interfaces they need.</p> <p data-start="1285" data-end="1544">As part of Spotify’s Platform mission, we build the technology that enables Spotify to learn quickly and scale easily — creating the infrastructure, tooling, frameworks, and capabilities needed to support our global business and millions of creators and fans.</p> <p data-start="1546" data-end="1906">We’re looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer who is genuinely fullstack — strong across backend systems and confident building high-quality frontend experiences — to help scale the platform’s architecture and AI-native capabilities. You’ll shape core technical decisions, lead complex initiatives end-to-end, and elevate engineering standards across the team.</p> </div> <h3>What You’ll Do</h3><div> <li data-section-id="1dm90wz" data-start="1926" data-end="2023"> <p data-start="1928" data-end="2023">Design and deliver fullstack features that power UI Studio’s generative platform capabilities</p> </li> <li data-section-id="1kyn07h" data-start="2024" data-end="2161"> <p data-start="2026" data-end="2161">Architect and implement scalable services and user-facing workflows across frontend (Typescript/Node.js) and backend (Node.js &amp; Java)</p> </li> <li data-section-id="y1m6jy" data-start="2162" data-end="2322"> <p data-start="2164" data-end="2322">Lead the integration of LLM-powered coding agents into product workflows, including tool use, planning loops, evaluation loops, and multi-step orchestration</p> </li> <li data-section-id="zzrwgi" data-start="2323" data-end="2454"> <p data-start="2325" data-end="2454">Drive search and retrieval architecture, including vector-based search systems, indexing strategies, and relevance optimization</p> </li> <li data-section-id="1vcgkjh" data-start="2455" data-end="2573"> <p data-start="2457" data-end="2573">Design, ship, and operate distributed systems deployed via containerized infrastructure (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)</p> </li> <li data-section-id="xclci9" data-start="2574" data-end="2736"> <p data-start="2576" data-end="2736">Take end-to-end ownership of complex systems and features, from technical design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and operational excellence</p> </li> <li data-section-id="1msas2p" data-start="2737" data-end="2857"> <p data-start="2739" data-end="2857">Improve internal APIs, platform primitives, and developer tooling to create intuitive, scalable platform experiences</p> </li> <li data-section-id="ask89v" data-start="2858" data-end="2990"> <p data-start="2860" data-end="2990">Partner closely with product, design, QA, and fellow engineers to deliver high-impact AI-native capabilities used across Spotify</p> </li> </div> <h3>Who You Are</h3><div> <li data-section-id="12kv3fv" data-start="3007" data-end="3138"> <p data-start="3009" data-end="3138">You have 7+ years of experience building and operating production systems, with deep experience in TypeScript, Node.js and Java</p> </li> <li data-section-id="1eju4tw" data-start="3139" data-end="3264"> <p data-start="3141" data-end="3264">You are comfortable contributing across the full stack and care about delivering polished, intuitive frontend experiences</p> </li> <li data-section-id="1poxzhh" data-start="3265" data-end="3408"> <p data-start="3267" data-end="3408">You have experience building or integrating LLM-powered systems, including agent workflows, tool integrations, and multi-step orchestration</p> </li> <li data-section-id="1gpm4p6" data-start="3409" data-end="3527"> <p data-start="3411" data-end="3527">You understand search and retrieval patterns such as vector search systems, Elasticsearch, and indexing strategies</p> </li> <li data-section-id="7cn292" data-start="3528" data-end="3684"> <p data-start="3530" data-end="3684">You have designed and operated distributed systems in cloud environments and deployed services using containerized tooling such as Docker and Kubernetes</p> </li> <li data-section-id="19l0f25" data-start="3685" data-end="3809"> <p data-start="3687" data-end="3809">You think in systems, considering scalability, observability, reliability, and long-term maintainability in your designs</p> </li> <li data-section-id="wgahse" data-start="3810" data-end="3914"> <p data-start="3812" data-end="3914">You can independently lead well-scoped initiatives and provide technical guidance to other engineers</p> </li> <li data-section-id="1ggeepz" data-start="3915" data-end="4000"> <p data-start="3917" data-end="4000">You communicate clearly in writing and produce thoughtful technical documentation</p> </li> <li data-section-id="fi3ef4" data-start="4001" data-end="4107"> <p data-start="4003" data-end="4107">You care about raising the engineering bar and contributing to a collaborative, inclusive team culture</p> </li> </div> <h3>Where You'll Be</h3><div> <li data-section-id="1y7dfwl" data-start="4128" data-end="4161"> <p data-start="4130" data-end="4161">This role is based in Toronto</p> </li> <li data-section-id="17rqmif" data-start="4162" data-end="4350"> <p data-start="4164" data-end="4350">We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best!
