Senior Manager, HR Compliance - Americas

<p>MongoDB is hiring a Senior Manager, HR Compliance to join our Americas Employee Experience team. This role reports to the Senior Director of Americas Employee Experience and is responsible for <span style="text-decoration: underline;">evolving, refining, and operationalizing a comprehensive compliance framework and strategy</span> across the region.</p> <p>The role includes <span style="text-decoration: underline;">direct management of one team member responsible for immigration and global mobility</span> within the Americas region, ensuring these programs are effectively aligned with compliance requirements and broader people strategies.</p> <p>As a key member of the Americas Employee Experience leadership team, this individual will help <span style="text-decoration: underline;">drive a culture of compliance and operational excellence</span>, while also supporting <span style="text-decoration: underline;">team-wide planning, key initiatives, and quarterly business reviews (QBRs).</span></p> <p>This role partners closely with regional Employee Experience leaders (Americas, EMEA, APAC) and maintains strong alignment with the <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Global Risk & Compliance function</span> to ensure consistency in processes, policies, controls, and audit readiness.</p> <h3>Key Responsibilities</h3> <ul> <li>Lead the continued development, refinement, and execution of a scalable HR compliance framework across the Americas (policy, training, audits, and programs), including a roadmap for future capabilities</li> <li>Build and embed a culture of compliance and best practices across the People Team and broader organization</li> <li>Develop and implement programs to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies; ensure in-region compliance of HR policies, processes, and programs</li> <li>Own and oversee immigration and global mobility programs for the Americas through direct management of a dedicated team member, ensuring regulatory compliance, effective vendor partnership, and alignment with business and talent needs</li> <li>Partner with Employee Relations and HR leadership to support compliant handling of employee matters, providing guidance, frameworks, and risk-based input (without direct ownership of ER processes)</li> <li>Partner closely with the Global Risk & Compliance function to align on controls, processes, policies, and audit activities; support internal and external audits as required</li> <li>Lead regular compliance audits and risk assessments, including policy creation, documentation, manager training, and systems/process approvals to identify risks and drive corrective actions</li> <li>Collaborate with HR leadership to create, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and effective escalation frameworks</li> <li>Partner closely with Legal to stay current on regulatory changes and translate requirements into actionable guidance</li> <li>Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate compliance considerations into business processes and decision-making</li> <li>Design and deliver compliance training programs to educate HR staff, managers, and employees on obligations and best practices</li> <li>Establish and maintain effective channels for reporting compliance concerns and support investigations as needed</li> <li>Prepare and present regular compliance reports to senior management highlighting key metrics, trends, and risks</li> <li>Build relationships with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and external stakeholders as needed</li> <li>In partnership with other regional HR Compliance Leads, drive key operational rhythms, including project management of or collaborations on global initiatives and coordination of quarterly business reviews (QBRs)</li> </ul> <h3>Qualifications</h3> <h3>Basic Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience</li> <li>10+ years of experience in HR compliance, employment law, or related field</li> <li>5+ years of experience applying U.S. employment law across multiple states</li> <li>3+ years of experience building and implementing HR compliance programs (policies, audits, training)</li> <li>2+ years of people management experience</li> <li>Experience partnering with Legal, Employee Relations, and/or Risk/Compliance functions</li> <li>Experience supporting audits, including controls, documentation, and remediation</li> <li>Experience delivering compliance training to HR and/or managers</li> <li>Experience operating in ambiguous, fast-paced, or high-growth environments</li> <li>Experience working in multi-state or complex organizational environments</li> </ul> <h3>Preferred Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>Master’s degree or JD</li> <li>Experience supporting multi-country HR compliance programs (Americas or global)</li> <li>Experience overseeing or partnering on immigration and global mobility programs</li> <li>Experience working in a public company or SOX-regulated environment</li> <li>Experience in the technology industry or other high-growth environments</li> <li>Professional certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent</li> </ul> <h3>About the Team</h3> <p>The Employee Experience Team at MongoDB is the face of HR to our global employee population.
